From atop the dam of Lake Minnewanka a view across the forested river valley towards the rugged Cascade Mountain can be afforded. Cascade Mountain is situated in Banff National Park in the province of Alberta, Canada.
The rugged and scoured peaks of Cascade Mountain show the dramatic effects of uplifting due to the movement of the tectonic plates on the earth's crust. Banff, Jasper, Kootenay, and Yoho National Parks together protect a large portion of the Canadian Rocky Mountains.
