This rainbow picture was taken over the Horseshoe Falls a waterfall in Niagara Falls, which is located in Ontario Canada. The constant mist rising in to the air and the water rushing over the side of the falls creates the perfect environment for a rainbow to form. The colors in the mist look beautiful as the rainbow seems to rise right out of the middle of the waterfall.
The Horseshoe Falls is part of the Canadian Falls, although part of it does spill over in to what is known as the American Falls. Niagara Falls is one of the most visited falls and from the air it is the most impressive as it looks like a giant horseshoe, hence the name.
The Horseshoe Falls are about 53 metres high but due to the immense amount of water rushing over the side continuously it produces the most mist out of any of the falls so it is sometimes hard to see. ... continue below the picture...
... When the sun comes out however, it is a glorious sight because some fantastic rainbows can be produced here due to the water.
