Across the tundra of the Churchill Wildlife Management Area in Churchill, Manitoba an adult Polar Bear begins to close in around a tour aboard a Tundra Buggy. Her young cub is messing around the big tires on the Tundra Buggy and she makes sure that no harm will come to the cub. She allows her cub some space to explore, but the adult will never let it roam too far until the cub becomes old enough to fend for itself.
The massive paws on this adult Polar Bear are ideal for walking across the partial frozen ground along the shores of the Hudson Bay in Churchill, Manitoba as she approaches close to the tundra buggy. Passengers aboard the tour have the cameras clicking as this is what they have come aboard to see.

... The female Polar Bear is quite a bit smaller than an adult male, as a male can be about 2 feet taller and possibly weigh up to 1,000 pounds more.
In the backdrop, a thick haze lingers over the Hudson Bay, but the ice has not thickened enough for the adult female and her cub to venture out onto the ice in search of ringed seals. The best time to go out on a tundra buggy tour while visiting Churchill, Manitoba would be just before the cold winter approaches. Most of the Polar Bears will still be hanging around the shoreline of the Hudson Bay in search of some type of food.
