The Bavarian Alps which can be seen for miles around when you are flying over them are a fantastic place to visit, both to ski in the winter time and then to hike and explore in the summer time. These mountains are made up of an Eastern and Western part and each of them offer something different to people who want to come to this region.
The Bavarian Alps are known all over the world for their beauty and magnificent settings and they are one of the most popular places to visit in this region of the world. As you can see from this aerial photograph, the alps are covered in snow for a large part of the year, especially the peaks as they are so high up in the atmosphere. Skiing in the Bavarian Alps can take place up until late spring and as long as the temperature doesn't continue to climb around the world, this should always be the case.
The sub-ranges of the Alps are called Wetterstein Range, Karwendel Range, and Nord Chain, and the Austrian part of the Alps are known as the North Tirol Limestone Alps.
