Moose, Alces alces are the largest member of the deer family. This impressive Alces alces profile clearly shows the moose's bell which is a flap of skin hanging beneath its throat. Alces means "Elk" in the Latin language. This beautiful animal was grazing amongst Ontario's fall colours with it's stunning display of antlers shedding the life giving velvet.
