Sierra Nevada near the town of Fondon in Andalusia, Spain is a mountain range with its highest point reaching 11,414 feet and along the base of this, in Sierra Nevada National Park, a single Almond tree is blossoming long before the others. With its beautiful pink flowers, the warm temperatures and enormous amount of sunshine creates the ideal locale for these Almond trees to thrive.
The young shoots on each tree will soon open and across the landscape blossoming Almond trees will be seen every few feet. Almond trees are not the only species of flower found throughout the park as there are well over 60 different types of flowers growing in this region.
