These ancient stone walls formed the perimeter of the historic Pueblo Bonito, a great house in the Chaco Culture National Historic Park of New Mexico.
Pueblo Bonito covers an area of almost 8,000 square metres (2 acres) with towering, multi-level walls of stone that divide this ancient structure into over 650 rooms.
These ancient ruins were first discovered in 1849 by a US Army lieutenant by the name of James H. Simpson and his guide.
