Towering cliffs of volcanic rock shaped by waves and wind categorize the 29,000 hectare Parque Natural de Cabo de Gata along the Costa de Almeria in the Andalusian region of Spain.
The rugged coastline of the Parque Natural de Cabo de Gata is part of the Costa de Almeria which accounts for a quarter of the overall Andalusian coastline in Spain. While the nearby lighthouse warns marine vessels of the rugged coastline, it also provides a viewing platform from which visitors have a grand overview of the volcanic rock formations leading out into the Mediterranean Sea.
