The flowers of the Apricot tree can be from 2 to 4.5 centimeters in diameter when they open from the beautiful round, pink buds during the Spring. The Apricot tree flowers early in the Spring, usually before the leaves have fully spread.
The one flower in this picture has spread its petals to the farthest extent in which they can go before spiraling downward from the Apricot tree. The surrounding flower buds have yet to open, but you can see the roundness on two buds which are ready to open up while the other two still remain tightly wound together.
Unterinnerhof in the South Tyrol, Italy is a beautiful display of Spring time beauty not only when the flowers are in bud form and the petals are fully open but also when the apricot fruit starts to appear.
