The Piazza dei Priori, the medieval square in Volterra, Tuscany in Italy has been home to the important Palazzi since the 13th century. The Palazzo dei Priori was designed by Riccardo and is the oldest building in Tuscany. Across the square is the Palazzo Pretorio and the Tower del Porcellino (the Tower of the little Pig).
There is a little stone pig on a shelf at the top of the tower. The third building is Palazzo Demaniale, which is far more modern than the rest, but was built to blend in with the medieval square.
