When travelling to reach the Arctic Circle in the Yukon Territory along the Dempster Highway, people are very relieved to see this beautiful wooden information sign. The Dempster Highway makes one think that the trip to reach this information sign is endless as a major part of the highway is dirt, gravel, mud and dust.The Arctic Circle sign is the ideal location to take a breather from driving and get out for a stretch to enjoy the scenery and read all the information that the sign provides. This particular day is rather foggy as the sun tries to burn its way through creating a pinkish tinge to the sky.As this information sign reads, the Arctic Circle is also known as the 66th parallel which relates to a geographic aura that tops the globe. A great day to visit the Arctic Circle is usually June 21st as the sun does not set on this day of the summer solstice, whereas a bad day would be December 21st as the sun never rises on this day of the winter solstice. It is best to reach this sign along the Dempster Highway during the day and enjoy the scenery as you still have along way to drive to get to the next destination spot.
