We discovered a spelling error in our headline - it must be "aurora borealis". Unfortunately we are not able to change the headline!!!
Nothing is as awe-inspiring displayed in an Alaskan sky as the Northern Lights or by its scientific name "Aurora Borealis". In the simplest of terms, the Lights are created when solar wind meets the Earth's magnetic field. The movement that you see is created when the two forces meet and interact. The colours and glow are a result of the solar wind particles colliding with the gases of Earth's atmosphere. The consequences are a magnificant
technicolor light show that only Nature can present. The Aurora Borealis is a visual gift for any Alaskan traveller.
