A baby harp seal is born toothless and nurses for around two weeks on its mothers rich milk during which time it will more than triple its size. After that time the baby seal is weaned and begins to moult its white coat, while also fasting. A baby seal pup develops teeth once it begins to eat again.

I photographed this photo with the digital SLR camera model Canon EOS-1DS, aperture of f/9.0, exposure time of 1/640 sec. on ISO 100, as always I used a original Canon Lens, the focus lenght for this picture was 70mm.
