Stock photo of a Bald Eagle Endangered. The Bald Eagle was listed as endangered because of dramically declining numbers since the early 1700's. By the 1950's there were as few as 10,000 pairs of bald eagles, and then by the 60's and 70's many states of the US made the Bald Eagle Endangered by placing them on their endangered lists.
