A ferry ride to the end of the Grand Canal brings the traveller to the San Marco terminus, where it's only a short walk to the Piazza San Marco, Doges Palace and of course the famous Basilica Of St Mark.
During the day at any time of the year hordes of tourists flock to see the grand historic church then vie for the best view. Come night fall the crowds dissipate and the Basilica of St Mark is left bathing in the soft night lights and peacefulness.

I photographed this photo with the digital SLR camera model Canon EOS-1Ds Mark II, aperture of f/13.0, exposure time of 30/1 sec. on ISO 50, as always I used a original Canon Lens, the focus lenght for this picture was 16mm.
