The North Taranaki Bight in Pukearue Historic Reserve is one of the many natural wonders of NZ where cliffs, beach and coastline make up the scenery.

On the North Taranaki Bight in NZ you will find one of the most beautiful places in the world. Miles of beach that extend along the coastline, intriguing cliffs made from unique rock formations and a picturesque horizon over the open ocean. These cliffs are known as the White Cliffs of NZ which was taken from the White Cliffs of Dover in England.When the tide is out along the North Taranaki Bight coastline, the beach is sometimes an easier route to take than the hiking trails. An especially long trek is the White Cliffs Walkway which is about a ten hour round trip and parts of the trails are not meant for unexperienced hikers.While walking along the beach, you will notice that the sand is black in color and the cliffs have all been carved from the salt water.
