The Australian King Parrot is a beautiful colored bird that resides in the Australian tropical rainforest and scrublands while breeding but will flock to parks, orchards and farms in other seasons.
With eyes closed, this Australian King Parrot decides to take a break from his busy day and rest in a tree at the Auckland Zoo. This beautiful parrot has a bright scarlet colored head, making this a male Australian King Parrot as the female has green colored feathers adorning its head. After taking a short nap, a good meal of either fruit, nuts, seeds, nectar or blossoms will keep this Australian King Parrot strong and healthy.

I photographed this photo with the digital SLR camera model Canon EOS-1Ds Mark II, aperture of f/6.3, exposure time of 1/400 sec. on ISO 200, as always I used a original Canon Lens, the focus lenght for this picture was 360mm.
