Outside one of the buildings at the Wairakei Terraces near Taupo, New Zealand, beautiful Maori women dressed in traditional clothing pose for their picture. Both Maori women wear the same skirts and shirts which is part of their culture, the only difference being is that one has a shoulder like shawl.
The Maori warriors are not the only ones to have tattoos on their face as you can see in this picture that the women are also adorned with face tattoos. Each tattoo on the faces of these women is filled with meaning and symbolism, but this can only be made clear by the Maori people while visiting the Wairakei Terraces.
Behind these beautiful women, the building and the windows are bordered by exquisite carvings done by the Maori people, another fascinating part of their culture.
