This baby bird is barely a month old and is showing off her fluffy plumage as the mother Australasian Gannet cleans and takes care of her baby. This family will stay together for about three and half months and then the baby bird will be able to fend for itself. At the Australasian Gannet Colony at Cape Kidnappers on the North Island of New Zealand, this type of behavior in a family unit is witnessed often.
