The Black Bear is also known as ursus americanus. The North American Black Bear is the best known and most widespread of the North American bears. Vancouver island is a great spot to do some black bear watching. In addition we would recommend to go grizzly bear watching on the BC mainland. There are plenty of bear watching tours available. You may combine a whale watching tour with a bear watching tour - the ultimate wildlife experience
