This beautiful Black Necked Swan resides at L'Oceanografic at the City of Arts and Science in Valencia, Spain in Europe. The Black Necked Swan is native to southern South America but most people don't get the opportunity to travel as far as South America so you can view this swan at the L'Oceanografic in Valencia, Spain in Europe.
Relatives of the Black Necked Swan are the Black and the Mute Swans and all three types have a similar characteristic of being fairly silent. The white plumage and black neck with a greyish bill and a red knob located on the base of the bill are all solitaire traits and make this swan very distinguishable from other species of the swan family.
