Portrait photo of a blue-footed booby, scientific name: Sula nebouxii, photographed on Española Island (Hood Island), part of the Galapagos Islands, Ecuador. I photographed this beautiful bird on a magazine shoot, which brought me down to the Galapagos Islands.

At this time I was shooting under/ and above water, which made this cruise very stressful but unforgettable. We saw quite a few blue-footed boobies on Española Island and some of them danced their famous mating ritual.

It was lots of fun watching this bird which seemed to be as curious as we were.

The photo of this blue-footed booby was originally photographed on Fuji Provia film, later scanned with the Hasselblad X5 scanner.
