A jet of cool, clean tumbling water cascades over the side of the cliff in Waikato, a region on the North Island of New Zealand. The waterfall is 55 metres high and surrounding the falls is a number of trails that can be walked and hiked by visitors so that they can enjoy the natural splendor.
There are two areas at the top of the waterfall that have good viewing platforms so that visitors can look down from the top of the falls to the pool below and enjoy the 55 metre height. However, if you are able to manage it, it is also recommended that people take the sometimes dangerous and slippery trail to the bottom of the falls, where this photograph is taken from.
At the bottom of the falls you can get an excellent view of the power of the water coming over the side, and you can enjoy just how beautiful the natural surroundings of the falls are. ... continue below the picture...
... The rocks around the pool at the bottom are mostly sandstone, and over time have been worn away to form a natural rock pool at the bottom.
Like most of New Zealand, this area, Waikato, is known for its natural beauty and gorgeous parks, that are visited not only by tourists, but also by New Zealand residents. This area contains many hills, mountains and valleys, and of course, gorgeous waterfalls such as this one.
