Many say that it is a form of animal cruelty as the bull is repeatedly stabbed with darts and forced to charge the matador until finally he succumbs to his injuries and dies in the ring. This bullring is one of the oldest bullrings still in operation in Spain, and was built between the years of 1779 and 1785. Many still come here today, not only to see a bullfight, but to visit the museum that is located on the grounds and to see a living piece of Spanish history. This has quite a rural location however, so when it does host a bullfight it is quite popular and people will make the effort to come out and see it here.
