Camargue Horses are a hardy breed which are a direct descendant of prehistoric horses originating in France. They are recognized as a pony. There are many wild horses on the Carmargue which are difficult to capture and train. Once trained they are a loyal and good natured horse.
The Camargue is a fascinating place to visit while traveling through the Bouches-du-Rhone region of the Provence, which has an abundance of flora and flauna. Be sure to allow a full day or longer in this region.
