It's massive wing span appearing as if he is ready to take off and his long neck stand twenty-eight feet high making this Canadian Goose one of the largest ever seen in Canada.
Made out of metal, this statue was built in 1963 and is very meaningful to the community of Wawa, Ontario. The town received its name from the Ojibwe word wewe, which stands for "wild goose" and it was decided that a statue should resemble the name of the town.
Wawa, Ontario is a popular location for snowmobiling during the winter and fishing in the summer but beware of all the geese that love to hang around the shores of Wawa Lake during the spring and fall migration.
