In the deep ravines amongst the canyon walls the Verdon River winds its way through Parc Naturel Regional du Verdon on its journey to Lac de Ste Croix in the Provence, France. The river runs for approximately twenty miles and a kayaking adventure down the river when sunset is near can be a fascinating experience.
If water sports are not on your agenda, the hiking trails throughout the canyon are incredible. Standing atop the rock ledges at sunset looking down upon the river in the Verdon Canyon makes one realize how peaceful and spectacular the area around France truly is.
