A Maori warrior dressed in his traditional clothing, shows visitors to the village at the Wairakei Terraces in New Zealand, a demonstration of his carving techniques. The carving in front of the man, is just the beginning to a beautiful piece of artwork which takes many months to complete.Each carving done by the Maori people incorporates figures or designs from legends and mythology each carrying a special significance to the culture.
