Bonaigua Pass sits at 2,072 metres in the Pyrenees in Catalonia, Spain where horses wander freely in the lush green mountain pass. The foal follows her mother around the meadows of Bonaigua Pass and does not stray too far from her side as she is not very old and finds the safest place to be is near her mother.
Adult horses with their young are located throughout the Bonaigua Pass in Catalonia, Spain and you will also cross paths with plenty of cows that also have free range to this mountain pass. The horses and cows become accustomed to the air at such a high altitude and their bodies adjust to the extreme heat.
This cute young foal trailing behind its mother will start to be weaned at around four to six months of age and soon grow to be more sure of its own surroundings. But for now horses at such a young age tend to rely on their mother the same as humans do.
