The Charles Bridge in the city of Prague in the Czech Republic is a historical landmark that crosses over the Vitava River. The construction of this bridge began in 1357 and was not finished until early in the 15th century and was the only way to get across the river until 1841.The name of the Charles Bridge in the city of Prague was first called the Stone Bridge or the Prague Bridge and was renamed the Charles Bridge in 1870. Approximately 516 meters long and home to three amazing towers with the one on the side of the Old Town being the most fascinating. This tower is one of gothic style and is the most extravagant in the world.Up until the 20th century many cars and horses crossed the Charles Bridge but eventually that was shut down and an electric tram and buses were only allowed to use it. ... Repairs are always being done but it is still a major through way for pedestrians to cross from one side of Prague to the other.
