Standing from the hillside overlooking the town of Clyde you can see for miles across the landscape where houses, streets, buildings and the Clutha River are what makes up this area of Central Otago on the South Island of New Zealand. People are extremely friendly and courteous with a majority of the permanent residents of Clyde spending their time farming, growing orchards, grape vineyards or helping with simple services around town.The climate in the town of Clyde, Central Otago and the surrounding areas is very hot and dry throughout the summer with winters that can be very frosty.
