As soon as visitors arrive at the Costa Blanca village of Tarbena in Valencia, Spain the peaceful atmosphere surrounds them. Situated around 2400 meters above sea level, Tarbena is an agricultural community, with many olive groves, almond trees and cherry orchards gracing the countryside.During the 11th century Tarbena was one of the many settlements occupied by the Moors, who brought their lifestyle to the Costa Blanca in Spain. They cultivated orange and olive groves, and designed terraces and vineyards on the mountainsides. The trails and paths the Moors cut through the mountains and valleys around Tarbena in Valencia are still the same ones used today.Perched on the side of the mountain, the village of Tarbena is a picturesque little place, with the terra-cotta coloured rooftops contrasting with the white houses.
