This tiny little foal plucked up the courage to check us out when we arrived at her alpine meadow home. Inching forward by taking one step at a time, and after each step turning to check on her mother's location, in case she needed protection.
Foals are cute and have a natural curiousity that leads them to follow humans and other horses around, at least until their mother's begin to fret.
Weaning for this cute young foal will begin at around four to six months of age, it is a stressful time for both the adult horse and the foal.
