Most people consider dandelions to be a problem weed but they actually add a beautiful yellow hue to the area around the train station in Xeroco, Valencia in Spain, Europe. Dandelions are native to Europe and they produce a yellow flower head that opens in the daylight hours and closes at dusk
Flowers on the dandelions grow individually on hollow flower stalks and have hundreds of tiny ray flowers. When this pretty yellow flower changes into a rounded white seed head, the tiny parachutes spread for quite a distance and reseed themselves producing more dandelions.
Dandelions love the sunny warm climate in Valencia, Spain and the open spaces where they are free to grow in abundance. The more that the locals try and rid the village of dandelions, they only seem to come back fast and furious.
