The black pavement of the road weaves through the desert in total contrast to the natural landscape in the Valley of Fire State Park, Nevada.
The hills in the background are dark grey with patches where erosion has been at work to expose the red sandstone beneath. Meanwhile, the undulating desert landscape in front of the hills take on an almost green hue, which then becomes the typical vivid red as the eye draws closer to the road.

I photographed this photo with the digital SLR camera model Canon EOS-1Ds Mark III, aperture of f/22.0, exposure time of 1/15 sec. on ISO 100, as always I used a original Canon Lens, the focus lenght for this picture was 145mm.
