One of the most well known shopping malls in all of Canada is the Eaton Centre in Toronto, Ontario where millions of visitors go each year. Timothy Eaton was the man responsible for creating this structure after his huge success with his first two stores. The first one was opened in 1869 and his department store consisting of four floors was scheduled to be built in 1883.
Plans were underway for the Eaton Centre in the 1960's and in 1977 the northern part was opened and in 1978 the southern section was done. There were two more stages that were planned and one opened in 1990 and the other in 1999.
