The village of Espot in Catalonia, Spain is situated at the gates of the Alguestortes National Park and is considered one of the prettiest villages in the region. Espot village buildings are all of Pyrenean architecture and there a number of historic sites that are high on the list for tourists to see.
The village is surrounded by spectacular scenery such as white water rivers, mountain springs, numerous lakes and mountain peaks ideal for hiking or mountaineering. As winter approaches and the snow begins to fall the Espot ski resort is opened with the best facilities available for skiing and other winter sports.
Espot in Catalonia, Spain is also home to a medieval watchtower and a Romanesque bridge which crosses over the Riu Escrita and divides the village into two separate parts.
