The opening of the First Church of Otago on the South Island of New Zealand was in November, 1873. The history of the First Church goes back to the year of 1848 with the Scottish disruption and continues forward to the first people who settled in Otago, New Zealand and became believers in the church.When church is in session on Sundays, you will find many of the people that attend the service to be travellers or visitors to Otago. The First Church always has its doors open to any different cultures and languages that are found across the world. At four different times throughout the year a communion is held for any and all members of congregations.The historical building shows its true colors in the design and architectural work of the church.
