Three flags, including the Spainsh and the European Union flag, fly in the breeze outside the Parlamento de Adnalvcia, the Andalusian Regional Parliament buildings, on a sunny day. Before this building was the Andalusian Regional Parliament, it housed the Hospital de las Cinco Llagas, but that has since moved. This parliament is found in the Macarena District of Seville, in Andalusia, Spain.
This is one of four legislators in Spain, which include Andalucia, the Basque, Catalonian and the Galician Parliaments, that can call for its own elections, independent of the regional and municipal elections that can be called for the rest of the country.
The Hospital de las Cinco Llagas, that used to be in this building, means the hospital of the five bruises. It was built in 1546 and was a hospital until 1972 so for over two hundred years it has a presence in the community as a place to help people. ... continue below the picture...
