The ice begins to build up each day around the shoreline of the Hudson Bay in Churchill, Manitoba as the winter season moves in, but it is still not thick enough for a Polar Bear. While waiting for the right moment, this Polar will continue foraging along the shoreline in search of any type of food or remnants.
While foraging along the coastline of the Hudson Bay, this Polar Bear could be smelling a seal that is more than twenty miles away. Their sense of smell is very keen and is the most important sense for the survival of a Polar Bear. It may continue foraging for the scent it has picked up, or the Polar Bear may find something else along its journey. The colder the weather becomes around the Hudson Bay in Churchill, Manitoba, the better it is for the Polar Bear and food becomes easier to find.

When people take a Tundra Buggy tour and see the Polar Bear in its natural environment around the Hudson Bay in Churchill, Manitoba, a human's entire perspective seems to change. They realize how important it is to keep the Polar Bear from extinction.
