I captured a shot of this funny eagle while it was enjoying a natural blow dry by the gusty winds on Homer Spit, Alaska. All puffed up with wings spread to maximize the drying process this bald eagle was content to stand on the pebbly beach for quite some time in this funny pose. An eagle's feathers are lined with down, which insulates it against the extreme cold as well as heat, and provides waterproofing and protection. This funny eagle was probably either drying itself off or cooling down.
