A colony of Northern gannets nesting on Bird Rock at the Cape St Mary's Ecological Reserve on the Avalon Peninsula of Newfoundland, Canada. Gannets are birds which are capable plunge dives which they execute from great heights then splash into the sea with their wings folded back.
