As the waves of the Tasman Sea lash at the West Coast shores of Gillespies Beach on the South Island of New Zealand, the sand dunes which are dotted with grasses and plants are a protected haven for the artist with an eye for land or seascape art. Whether your art is photography or painting and no matter what the time of day - dawn or dusk, sunrise or sunset Gillespies Beach is an inspirational location.
The pebble beach mixed with sand is strewn with driftwood and other treasures from the sea - some offering a great variety of subjects for art. A white rock spiral design is considered someone elses form of art set amongst the dune plants along the fringes of Gillespies Beach.
