Gillespies Beach near Fox Glacier on the South Island of New Zealand is a tranquil place to watch a sunset. The rays from the sun glisten off the small pebbles on the beach as the sun dips behind the hills and settles down for another evening.
Gillespies Beach on the South Island of New Zealand is a historic gold mining settlement which peaked in the 1860's. The houses along Gillespies Beach are the last remains of the gold town that had a short lived high point.
Nowadays, you can trek through many trails on beautiful walks and one in particular takes you on a four hour round trip to a fur seal colony. Don't leave it too late to begin this adventure because once the sunset fills the sky of New Zealand darkness will start to close in.
Tides bring in unique pieces of driftwood as you stroll along the black sand and intriguing rocks on Gillespies Beach in New Zealand.
