Although the Duomo Campanile is known as Giotto's Bell Tower, Giotto di Bondone was 67 years old when he designed and started construction on the Bell Tower and he died three years later, leaving the completion to others. Looking down the centre of the nearly 85 meter tower is not the best idea for vertigo sufferers.
Giotto's Bell Tower is located in the Cathedral Square, also known as Piazza del Duomo, with the bell tower being created in the Florentine gothic style. Every artist who visits the city of Florence, Italy, ventures to Giotto's Bell Tower to explore the sculptural decorations and the marble architecture of the tower.
