A beautiful portrait of a giraffe who resides at the Auckland Zoo on the North Island of New Zealand where visitors can enjoy a close up view of this unique African animal. The markings on a giraffe are all individual just like the fingerprints on humans with two horns which sprout out of the top of their head and grow as the giraffe matures.
When visiting the Auckland Zoo, there are special meet and greet sessions where people can encounter eye to eye contact with the giraffe and feel the soft texture of their skin.
Giraffe, Garaffa camelopardalis, in the Pridelands area of the Auckland Zoo, Auckland, North Island, New Zealand.
