Beautiful colored greens and fairways make up the playing area of the golf course that is easily accessed while staying at the Grand Chateau Tongariro in Whakapapa, New Zealand. While preparing to putt on this green, the scenery in the background is amazing as you can view the active volcanoes that make up backdrop.
This golf course is the highest one found throughout New Zealand and summer days let you enjoy the view as well as course. The cone shaped volcanoes are so interesting that it can actually take away from the concentration that should be directed towards your golfing.
When you step outside the front of the hotel, golfing is literally at your fingertips and many people have a hard time turning down a round. The course is nine holes, where three of the nine have an amazing view of the volcanoes that surround the area.
