Katherine Cove is a shallow sandy area that visitors to Lake Superior can come to look out over the expanse of the Great Lake and enjoy the peaceful feeling of nature all around you.
This is a popular vacation spot for families to spend time on the beach with their children, to go swimming in the water or even pass through this area as part of a nature walk. This is part of an untouched area on the shore of Lake Superior and as it is part of a provincial park it is protected by the Province of Ontario so that it cannot be developed or changed in any way.

... This lake is also the second largest freshwater lake in the whole world. It is the deepest and the coldest of all the Great Lakes, so in the summer time it could be quite cold even to swim in.
Over sixty species of fish are found in Lake Superior but as it is part of a park, fishing is not allowed at this spot at Katherine Cove. There are many scenic places along this lake shore however, Katherine Cove being just one of them and this is a very popular nature site to visit during a vacation.
