Photographing a grizzly bear growling, fighting or feasting is probably one of the most photographed scenes when it comes to grizzly bears but to me this shot of a mom grizzly nursing her little cub will be a personal highlight. I honestly never seen this before although I'm photographing bears for a long long time.
The photo also gives me a large amount of confidence that we don't disturb the bears when photographing them. While I want to doubt that you see a mom nursing in one of the more popular bear watching places, like Glendale Cove in British Columbia, I'm thankful that we have the freedom to move to other areas as well with my wildlife & scenery photo tours in the Great Bear Rainforest.
Believe it or not, this grizzly mom was so relaxed with us around that I was able to capture this image with my 2.8/300mm, handhold from a small boat.
