A white coat harp seal pup gets chatty with the camera during a visit by Sir Paul McCartney and Heather Mills to the ice floes in the Gulf of St Lawrence.
While journalists gathered around Sir Paul McCartney and Heather Mills to discuss the eventual fate of these cute harp seal pups, I was able to spend some time with it in between visits from its mom who'd appear through a hole in the ice occasionally to check on her baby.
Culling of baby white coat seals (generally 12-14 days old) has been banned during the Atlantic seal hunt which takes place between March and May each year. Species of seals hunted during this period are harp seals, grey seals, and hooded seals.
